Mark Armbruster is the CEO of Armbruster Capital Management, an investment advisory firm he founded in 2009. Mark began his investment career in 1996, working in equity research at Smith Barney. He later worked for Salomon Smith Barney’s Chief Equity Strategist. In early 2000, Mark returned to Rochester, NY, to help start Alesco Advisors, where he served as Chief Investment Officer. During his tenure, the company grew to manage a portfolio of $1 billion in client assets.
Since 2000, Mark has been an entrepreneur primarily focused on the financial services industry. He has started, acquired, or invested in numerous private companies. Mark is an active participant on several non-profit and for-profit corporate boards, both currently and in the past. He has also consulted on and provided expert testimony for investment-related legal disputes.
Mark has been quoted on investment matters in the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Financial Times, and other major publications. He has delivered numerous presentations on factor investing, exchange-traded funds, alternative investments, and other financial topics to both professional and individual investor groups across the country.
Mark and his family live on a small hobby farm where they raise chickens and honeybees. In his spare time, he serves as the Nordic ski coach for a local school district. Mark is a graduate of the University of Rochester and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
