The CAPE ratio currently stands at 28 for the overall U.S. stock market. It is still well ahead of the longer-term average of 17, but down considerably from its high of 38 late last year. With all the doom and gloom in recent economic news, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. From looming Fed rate hikes to the highest inflation in four decades, recession fears, COVID, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, there’s no shortage of concerns for investors. But does this mean disaster is imminent?
